What is our Privacy Policy?

Because Waste to Charity operates primarily as a direct third-party logistics (3PL) partner facilitating corporate inventory donations, our public website needs a “Privacy Policy” link, so here it goes:

Since we are a federally registered 501(c)(3) organization processing corporate donor requests, standard non-profit and logistics data practices typically apply to any information you submit via our contact forms: Information Collection: When you use our donation process or contact forms, they collect standard business details such as corporate name, contact information, warehouse addresses, and inventory/shipping specifications to coordinate logistics. Data Usage: This information is explicitly used to facilitate shipping, evaluate overstock items, match your inventory with our active network of over 50 non-profit organizations, and issue tax-deductible donation receipts. Third-Party Sharing: As a logistics partner, details regarding cargo and pickup locations are shared strictly with necessary freight and third-party logistics providers to fulfill the transport of goods from corporate warehouses to charity destinations. If you are a corporate donor preparing a large-scale inventory transition and require a formal, legally binding Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) or a specific corporate privacy policy document before sharing warehouse data, you can request it directly from the team at office@wastetocharity.org or via our Contact Page.

Required Information

Before you donate, we’ll want to get to know you and the details of your donation. In particular, we’ll request information on the following questions.

What items are being offered, and in what quantity? We do not handle items which are post-consumer, unless in Tractor Trailer quantities. If it was inyour home, the answer is likely no.
How are the items packaged? We need to be able to transport via tractor trailer items without damage. Palletized, boxed, crated items, are all fine.If loaded by slip-sheet, single SKU only.
Is this a repeat/ongoing donation? If so, this makes it easier for our partner orgs, and gives us greater flexibility for freight rates, even if it’s just once per year!
What are the shipping options? You ship to us, or we can arrange freight, if economical – we are in Florida

After an initial consultation, we’ll work with you to coordinate shipping and document donations. Donors in our network often receive 72-hour service, with three business days from contact to clearance.

Tax Documentation

We are always willing to help, if we can…

Internal Revenue Code Section 170(e)(3) provides a “special rule” that allows certain businesses—primarily C corporations—to claim an enhanced tax deduction for donating inventory and equipment. While most inventory donations are limited to the cost basis, this section allows for a higher deduction if specific criteria are met. Internal Revenue Code Section 170(e) (3) iii IMPORTANT DISTINCTION FOR NON-C CORPS While C corporations get the broadest benefit, Section 170(e)(3)(C) extends similar “enhanced” benefits to other businesses (like S-corps or partnerships) specifically for food inventory, provided it is “apparently wholesome food.” Section 170(e)(3)(C) If you wish to claim tax deductions for donated inventory, you will need to file IRS Form 8283 with us within two business days, detailing information about your organization and in-kind donation.
